We tackled 18 months in India and now after surviving "Life on the Other Side" we have relocated to Germany for a more civilized approach at married life. We don't know where the wind will take us, but we know we have each other and another wonderful opportunity to meet new people and explore new cities.

German Labor Day Weekend
May 1st was officially labor day in Germany. We took a few vacation days and enjoyed a long weekend. My cousin Meredith who is from Texas, but currently living in Spain flew in for the weekend. We had a blast catching up on the last 18 years of life. We had met once in about 1994 or so when her family drove to South Dakota for a visit, but I honestly can't say I remember much from the visit. My grandpa and her grandma were brother and sister so naturally we found conversation not to be a problem. Having the opportunity to talk with another American woman was a true vacation in itself. We enjoyed Dutch Tacos (made with Gouda Cheese) after discussing how we both miss Mexican food and baked rhubarb pie. Sunday we enjoyed an adventurous trip to Bremen and Hamburg with tour guide Ben leading the way. Thanks honey! The first three pictures are from Bremen, the fourth is Meredith drinking a dark German beer as she promised her father, and the last is Hamburg with city hall (Rathaus) in the background. A wonderful weekend!
