Diwali

India is preparing for Diwali next weekend. It translates to "Row of Lights" or "Festival of Lights" and sounds like it is going to be a crazy time. My friend Vladka said it will sound like a war zone for a week due to all the fireworks. If that doesn't get a person excited, I don't know what does? The significance of the Indian Public Holiday is the celebration of the victory of good over evil; the uplifting of spiritual darkness. (according to Wikipedia) It is a 5 day celebration that is celebrated in the Hinduism, Sikhism, and Jainism faiths. It is traditional to give gifts like we do at Christmas. The malls are lit up with Christmas Lights and lots of shopping sales. Kind of confusing having Christmas in October. I will keep you posted on the events of Diwali and try to get some pictures to post.
