Thanksgiving Weekend

A proud chef putting the turkey in the oven.

The carving of the bird.

The hit of the weekend, PUMPKIN PIE! The Germans had never had pumpkin pie and found the flavor to be amazing. Too bad you can't buy pumpkin in a can over here!

We celebrated our first Thanksgiving in Germany this past weekend. Ben's parents, brother, and his girlfriend were all in attendance. It was his families first Thanksgiving so that was really a treat to hear their responses to trying new foods.

OUR MENU
Appetizer:
-Devilled Eggs and a veggie tray

Main Course:
-Turkey stuffed with apple/bacon/celery/herb stuffing
-Green bean casserole
-Cranberry sauce
-Mashed potatoes and gravy
-Butterhorns

Dessert:
Pumpkin Pie with a scoop of ice cream and whipped cream

A really fun weekend helping the family learn about Thanksgiving. Ben and I even explained the rules of football as we watched a bit of the Nebraska vs. Iowa game on ESPN. Go Huskers!
