Breaking news on DW (German) TV, CNN, and front page The Times of India is the new "superbug." The front page claims the superbug is being traced back to Indian hospitals. The article fears the bug will spread worldwide as many Americans and Europeans have cosmetic surgeries in India. This new bug is drug resistant according to researchers and starts with gastric problems and then enters the blood stream and works into organ failure. On the same day that they are saying H1N1 has moved to post-pandemic period, now comes the superbug. I hate to be doom and gloom, but just passing along the facts. Now I have a real reason to justify my arguments towards why I would never have an operation in India. The price might be right, but the consequences are too high.
We tackled 18 months in India and now after surviving "Life on the Other Side" we have relocated to Germany for a more civilized approach at married life. We don't know where the wind will take us, but we know we have each other and another wonderful opportunity to meet new people and explore new cities.

Max Hospital
Yesterday I had the privilege of visiting Max Hospital. It is one of two places in Gurgaon that you can go to seek medical attention. I didn't actually go to the hospital, but more the clinic part of Max. You walk in, pay 500 rupees ($10) in consultation fees, and then sit and wait for whatever type of doctor you have asked to see. Yesterday, I asked for a dermatologist as I have something growing on my hands. I saw Dr. Manmohan Lohra, dermatologist, and he concluded it was an allergic reaction to nickel in my wedding rings. I am pretty sure my rings don't have nickel and I have never had a problem in the past. However, I listened to his advice and now have a fancy beauty cream lotion, fungal cream, and pills to stop the itch. A very good experience at Max and in India.

Sugar Apple
Tonight we challenged our taste buds with a new fruit. The name is Sugar Apple or Sweetsop and it looks more like a pine cone than a fruit. Once cracked open we discovered a sweet custard tasting treat. A little Google research tells me that Sugar Apples are native to the tropical Americas, India, and Pakistan.
