We tackled 18 months in India and now after surviving "Life on the Other Side" we have relocated to Germany for a more civilized approach at married life. We don't know where the wind will take us, but we know we have each other and another wonderful opportunity to meet new people and explore new cities.

Day of Mourning
Today is the day of a new beginning. I have been debating for months over this decision and today I have decided to accept my future responsibilities and take action. It is a day of mourning for me as I say goodbye to a friend who has been there for me in good times and in bad. Unfortunately I can not say when I first met this friend, but I know it was around the year 1996. We had a good 15+ years together in which almost every night my friend was tucked under my arm while I slept. Yes, basketball lived with me through high school & college, during my 5 years in Cincinnati, in my inlaws basement in Germany for 18 months while I was in India, and now with me in Germany. Basketball has absorbed my sweat and tears over the years and despite my husband's jealously, Basketball has always been there for me when I needed it. However, today September 2nd, 2012 I have decided to put my childish ways behind me and prepare for motherhood. I will publish this post and then carry Basketball to the black garbage container outside. Good bye old friend! I will miss you, but I know it is time to move on.
