It's Official: BLT Season in Germany has begun!

The first three tomatoes from the garden have been consumed! They were delicious on our first BLT sandwiches of the year. My 13 tomato plants are loaded with green tomatoes that will someday be made into spaghetti sauce, pizza sauce, or simply frozen for the future. I was tempted to weigh the first three tomatoes and keep an ongoing excel list of my harvest so that I could later figure out my estimated savings, however concluded that may take away from the pure joy of gardening. Therefore, I am planning to savor every tomato on every BLT sandwich that I consume.

Baby Renovation Week

Thanks to my wonderful husband baby renovation week was a success. He worked diligently to clean out our office, organize our files, and relocate old furniture. Our friend Stefan came and supervised the painting project and in the end we have a beautifully white painted room with a mold free window and a crib. It isn't fancy, but it is a fresh start for our new addition. We will add some baby furniture in August that we purchased from our neighbor and then work to add a few personal touches. I guess we can call this Step 1.
